And then they leave you
This morning, I was walking to work when I had this illuminating idea for a blog post. I was pleased with it but immediately thought that I should avoid blogging it during my work day. Enjoying the exceptionally warm air of the morning and the music in my ears, I was a poker face on the outside but internally happy to have something to feed the beast one more day. So at the end of the work day, I opened my blog and started my entry.
And this is what came up.
I had forgotten my idea.

That happened to me yesterday!! Which may have been your 'today'.
Good lord, perhaps it was some kind of universal blogging mind outage ... or perhaps we're just old? ;)
Old age is the main suspect, but there may have been some electrical storm over Blogville that expunged some nascent ideas.
tell me about it... it has happened to me time and time again.
Ok... so here is my tip.
You need to get into RSS.
Get yourself some headlines streaming in from multiple sites.. find something interesting... post about it.. comment on it.. like why you think it's important or not... etc.
You'll end up with one good idea a day.. posted consistently.
... of course then there are other things that happen during the day that you can post about.
Posting on a blog shouldn't be a task.. but rather a daily dairy.. left for posterity.
With time you will look back with fondness at all you wrote... and what people commented about...
Like your poor snowman.
I've never gotten into RSS. I've always been pleased with wandering around the web. But maybe now is a good time to give it a try. Any RSS reader you can recommend? Thanks.
Dear Mozza,
I usually use the one built into safari. I bookmarked several rss feeds I follow, and placed them all under one folder on the bookmarks bar.
I called it daily links...
I then look through regularly through the day... see what I like and post about it.
Another free RSS feed reader which is really nifty is Vienna.
I recommend it.. II have used it and it works well.
truly,
Misguided
